Radio Beirut is the first radio café in the Middle East
Radio Beirut is conveniently placed on Mar Mikhael among numerous bars. Rather than being lost in the mass it stands out for its cultural activities.
Radio Beirut is the first radio café in the Middle East; a live music venue, cultural center and online radio station streaming live through the web via **radiobeirut.net **. Over the last few years Radio Beirut has built up a reputation as one of the most active platforms for local and regional underground music with daily concerts, DJ sets and live radio shows covering a variety of genres from Oriental fusion to jazz, electro-soul, funk, hip hop, indie, reggae and rock.
On top of the always high quality music on offer, Radio Beirut is comfortable. It offers a variety of outdoor spaces, with tables on the street, a semi open and roofed bar space for smokers, as well as the back terrace looking with view of the court/garden.
The interior is roomy (and usually packed for live events) with simple dark wooden furniture both chairs and barstools dominated by the bar and the Radio Room/ DJ booth which stands out and gives it happen vibe even when relatively empty.
The venue is definitely a place for a good and wild night out, but also during the day time it provides a chill environment for a quiet chat or work.
Finally, the prices are better than in the surrounding bars. Beer at 5000 LL has almost become a rarity, but even its other drinks such as a fine Bloody Mary, Summer Teaser, Daiquiris, or Mint Lemonade are good deals as such this place is truly for everybody.
