Healthy, good-looking food
Opened in 2006, CaféShO is a bit of an institution and has made a name for itself as a place to eat healthy food. The adage that you also eat with your eyes, certainly applies to how food is served.
Situated on top of Monot next to Beit Barakat, CaféShO offers its patrons a serene ambiance. It gets plenty of day light and is somewhat removed from the frenzy of nearby Sodeco. CaféShO, which makes a point of not having Wifi, is a perfect spot to catch up with a friend or have a healthy business lunch.
Run by Selim and Sibylle, CaféShO has a distinct Francophone but also Far Eastern touch. Selim’s cuisine is Mediterranean and strongly Asian inspired, notably Indian, Thai and Vietnam.
Among the mains served are a range of kebabs, spring rolls, soups, salads and desserts. The menu usually includes very good fish dishes such as Thai fish curries or filet with sweet potatoes and Basmati rice.
The variations of spring rolls are mouth watering and possibly the best and healthiest you can find in Beirut. Prepared Vietnamese style, not deep-fried, they are rolled in rice paper and come filled with peanuts, crunchy greens, crisp shoots and yummy sauces.
CaféShO serves healthy food in healthy portions. If you’re not very hungry, best to share a main and order a starter. For soup lovers, there are always delicious soups on the menu, ranging from miso soup to carrot and ginger.
The type of soul food CaféShO serves should be paired with one of their fresh juices and herbal infusions or a good glass of wine.
If you have a craving for dessert, you will enjoy the Tarte Tatin.
CaféShO also delivers to your office or home and does catering.
Note: No card payment.
