Delicious Fast Food, 24 Hours
If you are wondering what is causing the inexplicable traffic on Spears Street, past Sanayah Garden at 2 am, you have arrived at Barbar Spears. Pull over on the right (if there is space) and a waiter will come to your car and take your order. There is also free parking in a lot to your right some 50 meters before you arrive at Barbar.
Barbar Spears is the sister restaurant of Barbar Hamra. Like the Hamra landmark, Barbar Spears is open 24 hours a day, and is made up of several different food stations. A slightly smaller selection is available from this location: the juice shop and butcher at Hamra are unfortunately absent. Still, you can get a wide selection of prepared foods, baked savories, and of course falafel and shawarma.
A bakery serving small maajanat, sandwiches, as well as delicious lahambajin (try with pickles and hot pepper) and manaqish (cheese 3,000LL, Zaatar 2,000LL). Freshly prepared grilled meats are also available in this location, as are a slightly smaller selection of prepared Lebanese foods for take out.
Barbar Spears has no tables, but as mentioned does provide free parking, and also a car waiter. More popular however, is to join the line of people, standing or leaning against the classic location’s brick walls, and eating their sandwich or manoushe while watching the parade of Barbar’s diverse clientele.
Barbar Spears also delivers.
