LMT 11 > Aaqoura - Afqa

North to South: Total ascent: 483 m. Total descent: 539 m. Aaqoura to Afqa Level of difficulty: Moderate.

Trail Description
This section of the LMT starts in the village of Aaqoura. It follows the majestic cliffs to the east of the village, climbing up to a high altitude along the ridge line. The terrain is mostly dry, rocky and treeless before reaching Afqa plateau, but the views in all directions are worth the climb. The trail then drops down into an area of juniper trees and orchard cultivation before reaching La Reserve camp at Afqa and the Afqa cave and spring.You may find at the start and end of this sections some springs.

15-km dirt road from Aaqoura highlands to Afqa 
3-km dirt road from Al Hosn area near La Reserve camp 
9-km dirt road from Aaqoura village via Roueiss to La Reserve
