Sahaja Yoga
(Sanskrit: sahaja), meaning “co-emergent; spontaneously or naturally born together”
The class evolves out of a spontaneous flow of yoga poses (asanas). It allows the self to tune into the prevailing energies and to be guided by the natural intelligence of the mind and body as they become united through the practice of yoga (kriya sadhana).
The practice is derived from the teachings of Royal Yoga (Raja Yoga) transmitted from the great lineage of the sages of the Himalayas. It includes postures (asanas), breath work (pranayama), seals (mudras), sacred sounds (nada yoga) and meditation (dhyana) as well as, most importantly self-study (svadhyaya).
