Laid Back Lebanese Food
Abu Naim is a modest and quaint family restaurant serving delicious Lebanese specialities on Abdel Aziz Street in Hamra. Run by Abu Naim, and son (Naim), expect to be treated like family dinner guests: fed delectable, carefully prepared, and artfully presented Lebanese food, and attentitively taken care of by Naim and staff. The decor is lowkey, at times it feels like you are seated in someone’s dining room, listening to their eclectic collection of Arabic music classics, jazz, and easy listening while eating excellent home cooked food.
Abu Naim serves great fresh Lebanese food. Their mezze is top form (we in particular recommend the Abu Naim Salad and the Raqaq Jibne, Cheese Rolls). They also offer less readily available delicacies (at least in Hamra): lightly sauteed frog legs are a great option. Noteworthy as well are their raw selections: Abu Naim is a favorite spot for delicately flavored kibbe and kafta nayye (raw kibbe and kafta).
The menu is rounded off with a wide selection of mashawe (grilled meats), which again are tastefully spiced and grilled to perfection.
