Average lebanese
Beautiful decoration inside an old house in Gemmayze, a Lebanese restaurant with a versatile menu.
We were there to celebrate our friend's birthday.
I have to say that the service is top notch, attentive and fast. The setting as i mentioned is also very neat. Half the grade was accorded to that and the other half was lost because I was not amazed by the food taste. Besides homos everything was average and small portions.
The bread basket with tiny loafs and a side of mohamara was tasty.
We ordered:
-fattoush: i cannot but compare with other places and Loris does not win, tasteless with oily bread on top, it should have at least more variety of vegetables in it else i would call it green salad.
- Itch: it tastes more like Berghol b banadura, lacked spiciness and was fade
- Kabab karaz: balanced taste but not impressive, the presentation though was good
- Hommos: creamy, the best part of the meal
- Fried kebbe and Rkakat: again way too oily which masked the taste
- Batat 7arra could use a kick to heat things up
- The baklawa cheese was ok
- Mixed grills with limitation on changing in its content
The bread that is served along the meal tends to dry fast. It would be cool to add markouk.
I think that there is room for enhancement in the recipes because this place has good potentials in my opinion.
