From the Champs Elysees straight to downtown Beirut, step into the world-renowned macaroon maker tea room and shop.
Step into La Duree Beirut and you will be instantly transported into a Parisian-chic tearoom that will delight your senses and taste buds. The eye-catching décor is a must-see. Linger on the oversized crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the green and pink pastel walls, and the whimsical –very French- uniforms sported by the friendly staff before you indulge in La Duree’s decadent desserts. An infinite display of macaroons, chocolates, pastries and other delicacies guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding sweet tooth. The French patisserie and tearoom that first opened in Paris in 1862 is still one of the best macaroon makers in the world. The Beirut branch, open since 2010, carries on the tradition. Imported directly from France, the macaroons are sorted by color and smell with new flavors to satisfy all taste buds. The rose petal and chocolate yuzu flavors are not to be missed. For those who are not macaroon fans, La Duree offers a selection of signature items such as honeys, jams, champagne and other yummy treats. While not a bona fide salon de the, they do offer outside seating should you feel the need to stick around and take in the delicious aromas or engage in true-to-Lebanese-form people-watching in one of the poshest streets of Beirut. Head there to sample some of their bite-size creations (be warned it is hard to stop at a few), grab beautifully packaged gift boxes or simply admire the shop design. If you’re lucky, you may stumble on their limited edition designer macaroons, created in collaboration with world-famous designers, the latest of which is Emilio Pucci.
